Hi crafty friends!
Today I am sharing a beautifully stenciled card that I created for the May Altenew Inspiration Challenge. Never heard of this challenge?
Well, each month Altenew hosts a challenge featuring a designer's color scheme and concept for the month. Participants are encouraged to draw inspiration from the post to create a card and blog post to be shared for all to see. Winners for the month will receive a $30 gift certificate to Altenew and an opportunity to be featured as a guest on a blog post. Sounds fun right?
Below will you find this month's inspiration from Jayce. Aren't these colors beautiful? It is a color combo that I would not have thought of. If you would like to learn more about Jayce's floral inspiration and see his gorgeous card, head over the the Altenew Blog.
As stated before, I love the colors for this challenge. Although I do not own Altenew inks or markers YET, I have Tim Holtz Inks that are similar to these.
I also decided to stretch my stencils and create only using the Sweet Spring Stencil.
I anchored the stencil along the bottom of my card panel, and began to add color. Using smaller detail brushes, I added ink. My inital layer included Milled Lavender on the larger flowers, Twisted Citron on the greenery, and Spiced Marmalade on the tiny flowers.
On the second layer, I blended Seedless Preserves on the larger flowers and smaller flower centers. Crushed Olive was blended onto the greenery. I added additional leaves to the middle flower bunch to fill space.
I was left with a beautifully stenciled card front. To finish it off, I stamped the "You Are Incredible" sentiment from the Kind Reminders stamp set using Intensive Black Ink and adhered Gold Pearls.
I had fun with this challenge and love my completed card! Tell me what you think. There is still time to join in on the fun. Will you be creating a card for Altenew's Inspiration Challenge this month?
Happy Crafting!
