Hi Crafty Friends!
I recently purchased the Apple Slices Bold Print Background stamp with the intentions of creating a teacher/back to school themed project. I am happy to have completed my card just in time to jointhe Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge. Anything Goes this month for the challenge. the challenge ends September 2nd.
I love this print not only because I can use it for fall and school related projects, but also because it makes for good painting and/or coloring practice. I chose to do a bit of watercoloring using the stamp. To begin, I grabbed Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink to stamp the print. I then grabbed my Tim Holtz watercolor pencils in Candied Apple, Tattered Rose, Twisted Citron, and Rustic Wildnerness. You can also use the inks or spray if you have them on hand, but since I have the pencils, I chose to use those.
I heat set everything and then grabbed a stamp from the February 2023 My Monthly Hero Kit for the sentiment. I simply watercolored a scratch piece of watercolor paper and die cut that out. The red apple is fussy cut from the scraps of cutting down the panel.
So, what do you think? I am in love with this. I simply wanted to stare at the background and not use it, haha. Glad I did though. Let me know what you think down below.
Happy Crafting,
Natasha
