Hi crafty friends! Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I am sharing two cards that feature a nontraditional color scheme for holiday cardmaking.
Pinks and Gold make for quite the cheerful holiday card. This card is a mashup of company supplies. I wanted to use a mix of both old and new supplies this season so things in my stash would no longer sit idle. I used the Papertrey Ink Swag die, the sentiment is from the Stamp Market and cardstocks are from Cardstock Warehouse. Those cardstocks include:
Sirio Cherry
Colorplan Blossom, Flamingo, Bubblegum, White (Sweetheart Multipack)
Stardream Gold
Birch Wood Veneer
I began by die cutting the bow from Bubblegum and assembling. The foliage is die cut from Gold, Blossom, Flamingo, and Cherry, with the latter being the accent color. I wanted to play around with placement to create a full swag. Once satisfied, I adhered the swap to an A2 panel of Birch. The Scripty Falala sentiment is large, so I thought the Gold and White would pop against the swag and it did just that.
The above card uses the same sentiment with Bubblegum and White cardstocks. I also used an older layering stamp from The Stamp Market, Pretty Petals, to make a patterned background. As you can see, this is not your typical holiday flower stamp. I wanted to show that you can stretch your regular supplies this season. I used Altenew fresh dye inks for that first two layers, and Hero Arts French Pink and Byzantine Green for the last, with the latter adding gold shimmer. I layered the panel onto Chartreuse to create more contrast and finished with gold accents.
I hope these two cards provide you with a bit of inspiration for your holiday cardmaking.
Happy crafting,
Natasha
